Appointment system

There are several ways to submit medical information and request an appointment with the surgery:

Use Klinik

We are asking, where possible, for our patients to use our online consultation system Klinik.  As well as medical advice and appointment requests, you can use Klinik to request fit notes, GP letters, medical reports, medication reviews and test results.

Using Klinik is very simple:

complete a simple form about your problem or request, your GPs decide on the best treatment for you and we will, call email, or text you with advice, a prescription or an appointment.

Use the NHS app

You can also book, view and cancel appointments at Boxgrove Medical Centre using the NHS app on your smartphone or tablet (or by using NHS Services on a computer). The NHS app allows you to order repeat prescriptions and check your GP medical record.

How to request a home visit

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10.30am.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Don't need your appointment at the surgery?

Please cancel an appointment you cannot make

Don't worry, it's okay to cancel. We know people forget things, cancelling GP appointments being one of them. Remember to cancel your appointment if you don't need it to allow us to give it to someone else.  Here’s how…

How to cancel an appointment

  • Text back the word CANCEL to the appointment text we sent you.
  • Login to your NHS App account and cancel the appointment
  • Visit the Klinik system and click the 'cancel my appointment' tile
  • Email soccg.boxhillmc@nhs.net
  • Call us on 01323 412300

Important note

Cancellations notified less than 30 minutes before the appointment time will be recorded as failure to attend (DNA). Repeated failure to attend booked appointments is a significant waste of NHS resources and may lead to your registration being removed from our list.
