Support for practices affected by Silicon Practice
SILICON PRACTICE WEBSITE DOWN?
LET'S GET YOU BACK ONLINE.
When your practice website disappears, patients lose a familiar way to find information and reach your services. We can help you put the essentials back online, then build a replacement website that works for your patients and your team.
Start with a holding page. Follow with a complete rebuild in WordPress or lightweight custom HTML & CSS. We will discuss what you need and confirm the quickest practical route.
You will need access to your domain control panel, or an authorised contact who can update it. Start arranging this while we prepare your holding page.
STEP 1:
A HOLDING PAGE.
KEEP PATIENTS INFORMED.
Getting a complete website ready takes planning. Your patients need the basics now.
Send us your practice details and current website address. We can prepare a simple, mobile-friendly holding page while we work with you on the full replacement. We will agree the scope and cost with you before work begins.
The essentials, all in one place
- Your practice telephone number, address and opening hours.
- A clear update explaining the website disruption and how patients can contact you.
- Direct links to the online patient services your practice confirms are available.
- Any other immediate information your team needs patients to see.
We will confirm timing after checking your requirements, domain access and our availability. Publishing at your usual address also depends on the domain changes taking effect.
STEP 2:
WEBSITE RECOVERY
& ONLINE PATIENT SERVICES
A replacement website can signpost patients to working services. It does not restore FootFall's consultation system, previous patient submissions or clinical-system connections.
If your online consultation service is also unavailable, work with your ICB or relevant service provider on replacement arrangements. We can add the appropriate links and your agreed patient guidance to the holding page.
Recovering public website content from archives cannot recover private patient information or requests submitted through the former system.
STEP 3:
ACCESS YOUR DOMAIN SETTINGS
You will need access to the control panel for your domain name — the account where your practice website address is managed — or an authorised contact who can make the changes for you.
Check who registered your domain and who currently manages its settings. This may be someone in your practice, your IT support team or an external provider. If Silicon Practice managed it, contact the domain registrar or whoever administers the address to establish how your practice can regain access. Put us in touch with the authorised person who can make the changes.
We will identify the website settings that need updating and coordinate the change, taking care to preserve existing email settings. You do not need to send passwords through our enquiry form.
STEP 4:
RECOVER YOUR EXISTING CONTENT
If you have a website export, backup, saved documents or a practice booklet, we can use these as the starting point for rebuilding your pages.
No export? We can look for public snapshots of your old website in the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine and recover available page text and documents where possible. Archive coverage varies: some pages, images and downloads may be missing or out of date.
We will work with your team to fill the gaps and check recovered information before publication, especially contact details, staff, opening hours and patient service links. Archived pages do not restore patient submissions or the systems behind online forms.
STEP 5:
CHOOSE HOW WE REBUILD
Keep what feels familiar with a WordPress website, or choose our lightweight custom HTML & CSS approach with simple on-page editing. We will help you choose the option that suits your team and how you want to manage your content.
We will agree your design, branding, page structure and links to available patient services, along with hosting, support, costs and a realistic build schedule. Your holding page can stay online while the full site takes shape.
STEP 6:
REVIEW YOUR NEW WEBSITE
We will share the replacement site for your team to review before launch. Check the design, recovered content, practice information and patient journeys, and let us know what needs changing.
Together we will check phone numbers, opening hours, documents, service links and any new forms, as well as how the pages work on mobile devices. Your team approves the final content before it goes live.
STEP 7:
LAUNCH THE COMPLETE SITE
Once approved, we will replace the holding page with your complete website and coordinate any remaining domain changes with whoever manages your settings.
We will check the live pages, secure connection and patient service links, and set up redirects from old page addresses where possible. Patients can then find the fuller practice information they need at your familiar website address.
STEP 8:
KEEP YOUR SITE UP TO DATE
We will show your team how to update the new website using the editor for your chosen platform, including changing text, uploading documents and keeping practice details current.
We will explain the ongoing hosting and support arrangements agreed for your website, so you know who to contact when you need help. The aim is a website your patients can rely on and your team feels confident managing.
TELL US WHAT'S HAPPENED.
LET'S PLAN YOUR NEXT STEP.
Give us your practice name, website address and a contact we can reach. Tell us whether you need a holding page, a full replacement or both, and whether you have access to your domain settings.
Please leave passwords and patient information out of your enquiry.
